Ex- NRL MVP Jarryd Hayne made a lot of waves in the NFL pre-season. The 27-year-old had his most complete performance for the San Francisco 49ers in their final pre-season game against the San Diego Chargers.

Hayne had seven carries for 58 yards (5.8 yards per carry), and two receptions for 17 yards. On special teams he also returned three punts for 43 yards, as well as making a tackle. Among the highlights was how he flattened San Diego Chargers cornerback Lowell Rose at the end of a run.

Hayne tweeted last night that he had been told by the 49ers that he had secured a roster spot, and will be in their regular season 53 man panel. It's one of the happier roster stories for NFL fans, who might see some characters leave the league. For now though, get ready for some more Hayne Plane.
