Wrestler Mick Foley Is Fed Up Being Mixed Up With 'Noted Writer From Cork'

Award winning author and Sunday Times journalist Mick Foley is forever receiving twitter notifications from people wishing to advertise wrestling events involving the former wrestling champion Mick Foley. Every now and again, one sees him re-directing US wrestling fans towards the twitter handle of the Mick Foley they are looking for, aka @RealMickFoley.

By the same token, we should hope that former professional wrestler Mick Foley - he is described these days as 'semi-retired' - is fed up of being complimented for his work on 'Kings of September'. And we hope it is for this reason that he has seen fit to issue a public service announcement re-directing people to the twitter account of the 'noted writer from Cork, Ireland', Mick Foley of the Sunday Times.

For those of you, like me, who weren't aware what Mick Foley the wrestler looked like until now, he bears a striking resemblance to Italian prop forward Martin Castrogiovanni.

In the interests of getting more people to sample 'Kings of September' and the even better 'The Bloodied Field', we may tweet the wrestler Foley thanking him for writing these books and telling him there's no shame in re-tweeting praise.

Listen to our interview with Foley from Christmas 2014 here.
