Turk and JD of Scrubs set the standard for the ultimate bromance, but there are a few contenders for that crown in the world of Football.

While footballers will often speak positively of their teammates, or share moments of happiness together on twitter or Instagram, there's more to a true bromance than that, and we've found some of the truest bromances around.

Ander Herrera and Juan Mata

We did a full article on how ridiculously bromantic these two are about each other, but fresh evidence has since emerged and these two are just adorable:

Neymar and Dani Alves

Dani Alves was never leaving Barca this summer, not while his BFF was still there.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Maxwell

One you might not expect here, but Maxwell and Zlatan have been teammates at Ajax, Inter, Barca, and now PSG. And there's good reason why, as the Brazilian has gone on record saying this about his pal:

Zlatan is like a brother to me, we're really close. We had the chance to play in many clubs together. There have been great moments and we even grew up together. Even after years, our relationship has remained intact. It's something very important for me because we spent almost all our career together. It is more than a friend to me, I am pleased to be him with me here in PSG.

Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso

Luke Shaw and Memphis Depay

This one is the newest bromance to emerge on this list, but it's undeniable. Having recently joined Manchester United, Memphis has found a friend in Luke Shaw, to the point where MUTV even did an interview asking them about their bromance.

Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll

The above video is just from their time at West Ham, but at Newcastle, after Andy Carroll was charged with assault, he was bailed under the condition that he live with Kevin Nolan, to which Kevin said this:

I have got a four-year-old daughter and a nine-month-old son, and we have got all sorts of different books for him to pick from," said Nolan at the time. "He might like Peppa Pig – or there is a monkey one.

Patrice Evra and Ji-Sung Park

Phillip Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger

13 years together in the Bayern first team was ended this summer, and while all his teammates were enjoying Oktoberfest this time, Phillip couldn't help but miss his mate:

It's when you go to Oktoberfest that you really notice that he's no longer here. He was always very well dressed, as you'd expect from someone who grew up in Bavaria. I've certainly missed him, but in all honesty he wasn't really a beer drinker.

Thiago Silva and David Luiz

These two are such good friends, they even have a pair of mini-me lookalikes who are also good friends.

A true football bromance is a beautiful thing.
