Every now and then, a player comes to the fore in their sport, and announces to the world that they are here to stay with his performances. These types of players arrive, win everything in sight during their lengthy careers and dominate the sport.

But who are the next crop of sports stars ready to dominate for the next decade?

Jordan Spieth

The 21 year old broke all sorts of records on his way to winning the Masters and claim his first major title. This wasn't an unexpected victory. Spieth's talents have been earmarked for a while now. The prodigy recorded a 16th place finish as a 16 year old amateur in the 2010 Byron Nelson championship, before winning the 2013 PGA Rookie of the year. The Masters victory brought Spieth up to 2nd in the world rankings, and it's hard to see many winning more majors in the next decade than Spieth and McIlroy.

Robbie Henshaw

Robbie Henshaw proved in the Six Nations that he is the real deal. 2nd to O'Connell in the player of the tournament vote, named in several World XVs already. Henshaw is only 21.

The Connacht centre's progress has been exponential in the last two years to the point where he looks like he will be one of the fixtures of the Ireland team for the next ten years.

Odell Beckham Jr

It's not often that casual sports fans this side of the Atlantic would hear of an NFL rookie. But that is exactly what happened on a New York night in late November.

Beckham's ludricious three-fingered catch marked him out as something special.

But it didn't stop there. The 22 year old Odell Beckham Jr made spectacular catch after spectacular catch after an injury disrupted start to the season. His athleticism and the way he took a faltering franchise on his back as a rookie was remarkable. The New York Giants were languishing before Beckham and now head into the next few years with a renewed sense of optimism.

For good reason, this kid could be special.

Australian teenager Nick Kyrgios is the youngest of the next generation of tennis players already making waves on tour. The 19 year old has made steady progress on his two years on the ATP tour so far. Newly in the top 100 after his remarkable Wimbledon where he beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet and then world no. 1 Rafael Nadal.

He became the first male debutant to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals, and backed that up with another quarterfinal appearance in the first grand slam of this year - the Australian Open. One to watch as the big four start to decline.

Eugenie Bouchard

It's been a quite few years for Bouchard. The 21 year old Canadian went from Junior Wimbledon champion in 2012, to winning the WTA Newcomer of the Year the following year, and the WTA most improved player in 2014.

Her performances in the grand slams have been extremely good for a youngster with two semi final appearances in the Australian Open and the French open before losing in the final of Wimbledon last year.

She's already ranked as the 7th best player on the Women's tour, and there is a lot more to come from this 21 year old. Women's tennis will be looking for someone to takeover from Serena Williams domination run.

Julian Savea

Is there a more dominant rugby player in the world now? That doesn't look like stopping anytime in the next ten years as Savea owns the rugby world.

In fact, the only thing that could stop Savea from taking over international rugby for the next ten years is if he decides he wants to take a payday and dominate Northern Hemisphere rugby for a few years.

The beautiful combination of pace and power, many have tried to stop him, but Savea finds ways to score bucketloads of tries and he's still improving. He's added more to his arsenal in his build up play, his linking with other team mates and his ability to set others up. He's also not the defensive liability he once was.

A scary scary thought that he'll be around for another ten plus years.

Rory McIlroy

25 year old McIlroy may be the oldest person on this list, but in golfing terms he's still a young guy. He's the most established figure here with three major titles to his name.

There no doubt that McIlroy's major haul isn't over, but now with a challenger with the talent and mental strength of Jordan Spieth, he may not have it all his own way anymore.

Max Verstappen

Verstappen is by far the youngest on this list, at just 17 years of age. The Belgian Dutch teenager isn't old enough fora  driving license, but he is already racing for Scuderia Toro Rosso in F1.

He is the youngest driver ever in the history of World Championship Grand Prix. His father is Jos Verstappen. He spent one year in Formula Three in 2014, winning more races than any other driver with 10 victories. He has been in three races so far this year, with his best finish coming 7th in the Malaysian grand prix.

The F1 community are very excited about F1, with some saying that he is the most exciting driver to come along in a generation.

Cormac Costello

The 20 year old has been fantastic for Dublin in his short career. Already has an All Ireland football medal and two National League medals to go with his huge haul at minor level.

It's frightening to think that he's only 20. There's a lot more to come from Costello.

Bubbles O'Dwyer

O'Dwyer is just finding his peak now, but at 23, he'll be around a long time. He's one of the brightest young players in the game. The student has already earned an All Star in his second year playing intercounty hurling after an impressive performance in the All Ireland final.

It's likely that O'Dwyer will be the driving force behind Tipperary for the next ten years as they try to capitalise on Henry Shefflin's retirement and overtake Kilkenny.
