A Bad Week Has Now Become Even Worse For Jack Grealish

We must admit that when Jack Grealish was filmed in a nightclub after Villa's 4-0 loss to Everton, we thought it was classic storm in a teacup stuff. Granted, it was bad timing considering the extent of Villa's plight this season but he wasn't exactly doing anything outrageous.

Nonetheless, it's not the most professional look for someone of his standing and the English media really let him have it. The exposure was horrendous timing for Villa and new manager Remi Garde and the Frenchman duly sent Grealish to train with the u21s as punishment.

It seemed that would be that, a slap of the wrist and little more, but Garde has continued down the disciplinarian route today by confirming that Grealish has been dropped from the squad entirely for this weekend's clash with Watford.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference today, Garde confirmed that the 20 year old will continue to train with the u21 side for the immediate future, with a warning that Grealish's professionalism needs a lot of work.

He won’t be included in the squad for Watford. [His actions] are not of the professional standard that I expect from my players.

That’s why Jack is training in U21 team.

Garde went on to say that although English football has come on in terms of professionalism, the actions of the likes of Grealish would indicate that there's still some way to go.

English footballers have become more professional but you see young footballers wanting to live life all over, we forget in their brain they are 20.

All this follows reports that, despite declaring for England earlier this year, Grealish won't now be in contention for Roy Hodgson's Euro 2016 squad.
