Aaron Ramsey's Hair Is Absolutely Horrendous, And It's All Because Of His Irish Hero*

As Wales finalised their squad for Euro 2016, Aaron Ramsey celebrated the news by a totally unrelated Instagram post of him cradling his young son. While it is ostensibly a loving ode to his son, we think the main reason behind the post is the showing off of his new hairstyle, which is certainly rather striking:

The angle of the photograph is designed to maximise the shock value of Aaron Ramsey's hair. Now, we here at Balls.ie don't often read too much into hairstyles. Were we to, David Beckham would have become one of the most fascinating characters of the twenty-first century, rather than the egregiously dull man he really is. But Ramsey's hair most certainly has a deeper meaning. It is almost certainly a tribute to his grey-haired football hero: 16-cap Irish international Graham Kavanagh.

Ramsey announced that Kavanagh was his idol on the ironically derivative  A League of Their Own, revealing all to top, top, top lad James Corden:

It's fantastic to see Ramsey still remembers the influence Kavanagh had upon him. While Ramsey will not emulate his hero by playing 16 times for Ireland, we hope that he is at least consoled by the winning goal in an FA Cup final and the chance to star for Wales at Euro 2016.

As an aside, while we said we were not often in the business of over-analysing, we make a second exception: Carlos Valderrama has the same hair style as his wife.
