This season marked the first year of Adidas' kit deal with Man Utd. Over ten years, the German company will pay out a whopping £750 million.

Speaking to German paper Suddeutsche Zeitung, Adidas CEO Herbert Hainer spoke glowingly regarding sales.

However, in reference to the style of play which the side currently have under Louis van Gaal, Hainer was less positive.

Business with Man United is going very well, we sell more shirts than expected. We are satisfied, even if the current playing style of Man United is not exactly what we want to see.

This success confirms again that Man United is not just a football club. With more than 650 million fans globally, it is, without doubt, one of the world's most supported sports symbols. This special club has not only a rich history, but also a reputation for success and the unexpected.

This season United have been unrecognisable from the attacking force which they were under Alex Ferguson, yielding just 24 goals in 20 games so far.

On Saturday, against Swansea, they claimed their first league victory since November 21st against Watford.
