Famous Name And Famous Brother - A New Midfielder For Irish Fans To Keep An Eye On

After a 4-0 win over the Czech Republic on Saturday, it was back to Whitehall for Ireland u18s once again on Monday to face the same opposition. It wasn't quite so comfortable for Paul Doolin's side this time around as the Czechs turned things around with a 3-1 victory.

The u18 setup is used as something of bridging post between the more competitive u17 and u19 levels and it gives players in the League of Ireland and those on the fringe of the u19 setup the chance to impress Doolin and get a taste of international football. An invaluable experience for many and it gives fans another opportunity to see the next level of players coming through.

Take, for example, the goalscorer on Monday. Liam Brady tucked home a penalty after 33 minutes to level things and the crowd that braved the weather will have let their imaginations get the better of them. Liam Brady scoring for Ireland on a windy Dublin pitch.

However, it's not just the name that may have fans dreaming of things to come. The family ties aren't too bad either when you consider that he's Robbie Brady's younger brother.

The Norwich man's parents really should have been more considerate when it came to naming his younger brother. The genes were obviously there so they really should have anticipated the clamour when it came to another Liam Brady coming through the Ireland ranks.

Brady the younger made the move to England earlier this year with Stevenage and he's hoping to grab the attention of another famous name. Teddy Sheringham is currently manager of the League 2 side so if he hasn't learned enough from his older brother, young Liam has another decent mentor to look up to.

All in all, no pressure then.
