The whole world seems to love twitter spats. That's what I'm gathering from the latest Kardashian related post I keep having to scroll past on social media.

But the best kind of twitter spats, are when it's in the sports world - and they are more funny than abusive or petty. Which brings us to yesterday, and the preseason training of German club Borussia Monchengladbach. The German team were down a goalie or two for training - maybe due to injury - so they got fitness coach Markus Muller to lend a hand:

All good so far. It turned out Muller was pretty good in nets, and the club decided to show everyone. They even mentioned his passing resemblance to a certain Joe Hart, but said he was even better than Hart - because there was no England related gaffs in goals:

All told, just a funny tweet with some humour poking some harmless fun.

Of course, Man City wanted to defend their guy - so the social media whizzes in Beswick decided "No, they can't do this." - and dug out this piece of history. A point well made too:

That of course being Joe Hart saving a penalty against Monchengladbach last season. Wishing to give City credit with their comeback/give one of the best puns/burns in the history of sports twitter spats - Gladbach hit back with this:

Well played.

Who said the Germans don't have a sense of humour?
