On the 59th minute of England's 3-0 win over Lithuania Danny Ings came on and made his English debut. It will forever be a memorable moment for him but it could end up becoming a costly one for Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports Liverpool now face the possibility of paying a record tribunal fee for the 23-year old as Burnley are to seek a higher compensation for the summer loss of their former star striker.

During the summer the former Bournemouth and Burnley striker's contract expired and he eventually choose to sign for Liverpool. However a tribunal is required when a player under the age of 24 moves clubs after reaching the end of his contract. This tribunal will eventually decide how much the Reds will have to pay Burnley.

The two sides failed to agree a compensation fee during the summer with £2 million pounds being the reported gap between the two clubs. Liverpool could regret not paying that difference considering that the valuation that the tribunal determines is non-negotiable and there is also no right of appeal once a figure is reached.

The Championship side is now reportedly looking for a fee close to £10 million pounds for their former striker.

The tribunal will ultimately take a number of factors in to determine the fee. These include the length of time he was at the club, number of appearances for the club and any international experience. But it is Danny Ings first cap that will be the catalyst for a potentially increased fee that John Henry and the rest of the Fenway Sports group could eventually have to pay.

The previous record for a tribunal fee was set in 2009 when Chelsea had to pay Manchester City £6.5 million pounds for Daniel Sturridge.
