Will Jeff Hendrick be playing in the Premier League next season?
There is certainly interest. Middlesbrough, Crystal Palance, and Everton have all expressed an interest in the star of Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign, but since the tournament ended it has emerged that Burnley are the most serious in securing the Dubliner's signature.
DerbyTelegraph.co.uk are reporting that Derby have rejected a £7m bid from Burnley after rejecting two previous offers for Hendrick.
DERBY County have turned down a third bid from Burnley for Jeff Hendrick and the Rams' stance has not changed – they do not want to sell the midfielder.
The Rams had already rejected offers of £3m and around £5.5m for the Republic of Ireland international.
The latest bid, I understand, is in excess of £7m.
Hendrick's profile has risen following his performances for Ireland at the European Championships in France, where he started all of the games for Martin O'Neill's side.
£7m is a reasonable fee, much more reasonable than the £3.5m that Burnley opened with, but Derby are playing hard-ball and they are more than entitled too. Fully aware of the money Premier League clubs now have to play with, they are unwilling to let one of their key players go without a fight.
It remains to be seen whether Burnley, or any other Premier League club, come back in for Hendrick as in all likeliness they will have to offer over £10m to bring him in.
