Bargains! 12 Players That Seem Strangely Undervalued In The New Fantasy Football

Fantasy Premier League is back!

That means that everyone in your office or circle of friends will be talking about who to sign, who will flop this year, who has the best team name, and how this is going to be the year that they stick at it...

Until they stop playing after two gameweeks.

It's the same every year for the vast majority, but that doesn't mean that picking your initial team isn't still really fun. Whether you know you won't stick with it or you're a proper player year after year, you should consider some of the following players that seem very reasonably priced.

Fantasy Football Bargains 16/17:

Mesut Ozil - Arsenal - 9.5m

Under 10m seems very low for a player who dominated the fantasy football scene last year. Not much has changed at Arsenal so expect Ozil to play a big role once again in terms of providing goals and assists.

Aaron Ramsey - Arsenal - 8.0m

Off the back of such a promising Euros it's hard not to be tempted by the Welshman at that price. Notoriously hot and cold when it comes to fantasy form, when he's hot he's incredibly value so could be worth the gamble early on.

Max Gradel - Bournemouth - 5.5m

A very low price for a player who has proven himself to be a constant threat at Premier League level. The return of Callum Wilson and Max Gradel should be huge for Bournemouth, but that's a fantastic price for the winger.

Willian - Chelsea - 7.5m

Recommended

The only question here is whether or not Willian fits into Antonio Conte's plans, but it would be very hard for the Italian to justify dropping Chelsea's star man from last season. If he starts, that's an absolute steal.

Steve Mandanda - Crystal Palace - 4.5m

Seemingly the official site has Mandanda in a contest with Wayne Hennessy for the #1 shirt at Selhurst Park, but we're backing big Steve 100%. A great price for a keeper in a Pardew side.

Shinji Okazaki - Leicester - 6.0m

His first season in England helped Leicester to the title, and he enjoyed a magnificent end to the season last time out so this price makes all sorts of sense for a third striker.

Neil Taylor - Swansea - 4.5m

The only defender on this list because all defenders are cheap now (6.5 being the most expensive), Taylor is also coming off of a good Euros and will start at full-back for Swansea.

Shane Long - Southampton - 6.5m

We all know what Shane can do, and hopefully he will build on his last campaign and continue his excellent fantasy form with Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane out of the picture.

Bojan - Stoke - 6.0m

First thing's first, Bojan is listed as a midfielder. That fact, plus his 6.0m price tag make him the stand-out bargain on this list. Stoke were far better with the tiny Catalan in their side, and if he can stay fit then he's a steal.

Jermaine Defoe - Sunderland - 7.0m

Guarenteed goals usually come with a higher price tag. Clearly the expectancy for Sunderland to again face a relegation dogfight is what is keeping his price down, but Defoe had a very fruitful campaign last year with very little help. A safe bet at a resonable price.

Soufiane Feghouli - West Ham - 5.5

There's always the worry that new signings won't adapt, but look at Dimitri Payet's debut season. Feghouli is a seriously talented winger and if Bilic can get the best of him, as he did Payet, then that is the bargain of the century. And speaking of Payet...

Dimitri Payet - West Ham - 9.5m

Anything sub-10m was going to be a good price for the magnificent Frenchman, and he will surely be one of the most commonly picked players as the season kicks off. You may wish to opt for Feghouli and hope he can outshine Payet, but can you really afford not to have Dimitri?
