Telegraph Journalist Responds To Criticism For Calling Jamie Vardy A Racist

Amidst the media frenzy over Jamie Vardy's Premier League record breaking run of 11 consecutive games with a goal, not everyone is happy to see praise heaped on the Leicester City striker.

Back in August, a clip of Vardy making a racist comment towards a man of Asian origin in a casino surfaced, and Vardy was fined before issuing a public apology to the man in question, and respected Telegraph sportswriter Jonathan Liew tweeted shortly after Vardy's goal against Manchester United to remind his followers that he is not happy to see the incident swept under the rug.

And today Liew took to his Facebook page to address the response, or rather the "heat" as he described it, that he received overnight.

The post has sparked a lot of discussion in the comments, with some wholeheartedly agreeing with Liew, and others suggesting that having been fined and apologised Vardy has been punished appropriately, but it does make for an interesting discussion.
