Watch: Jurgen Klopp Proves He's Different To Most Coaches By Lavishing Praise On Brendan Rodgers

It's very rare in football for an incoming manager to reference a recently departed boss. There are a few exceptions - David Moyes found it hard not to mention Sir Alex, while some new bosses try to stamp their authority on their new club by firing shots at the old boss - see Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho's feud.

But what you certainly don't get is for a new manager to come in with a refreshing attitude who decides to heap a lot of praise on the last departed manager.

What Jurgen Klopp has shown in his short time in the Premier League is that he's no normal manager. Klopp took time out of Liverpool's pre-match press conference ahead of Crystal Palace to credit Rodgers with the talents of the squad he has inherited:

Brendan did a really good job here, so we don’t have to show them how football works – because of Brendan’s work.

We have to start to develop, we have to come together because every manager’s different.

Most managers can't wait to get into a team and stamp their authority on the club, making a rash of new signings. Perhaps it's smart of Klopp to get everyone on board ahead of the transfer window opening, but you get a sense that Klopp is very genuine.
