It's the news that all Liverpool fans have been looking forward to. Finally ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has been confirmed as the new Liverpool manager, taking over from Brendan Rodgers.

Klopp comes to the Premier League with an impressive CV from his time at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund. Klopp was the first manager to bring Mainz to the Bundesliga, and he also got them to qualify for the UEFA Cup in 2005-06. He joined Borussia Dortmund in 2008, and transformed the club that had been battling against relegation into Bundesliga heavyweights. Klopp lead Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles, and a Champions League final.

According to Sky sources, Klopp will join Liverpool on a three-year deal. The 48-year-old German is set to bring in his own staff with the Sean O'Driscoll and Gary McAllister reportedly leaving their posts at the club.

Klopp's first game as manager will be the trip to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham on the 17th of October after the international break, while his first game at Anfield will be the Europa League game against Rubin Kazan.
