Lance Armstrong Seems Quite Jealous That Sepp Blatter Is Getting All The Attention

Lance Armstrong is back on the media trail. The disgraced cyclist has been putting his head above the parapet intermittently over the past couple of years but little by little we're hearing more from him.

This time it is an extremely interesting interview with the Times that gives us an excuse to pick over what Armstrong says. As usual, he doesn't disappoint.

First, Armstrong compares himself to the greatest example of pure evil in recent years, Lord Voldemort. The cycling world views Armstrong in much the same way the wizarding world viewed Voldemort from The Philosophers Stone through to the Order of the Phoenix. He doesn't exist and that's what everyone chooses to believe.

However, it's another, more timely, reference that is perhaps most interesting. With 'ill-judged pride', Armstrong compares his own scandal to that of Sepp Blatter and he seems very keen to make sure no one forgets his legacy when asked if his scandal was bigger than that of FIFA's.

"Much bigger,” he says. “F***ing massive. I mean, nobody in the world thinks that that f***er [Blatter] is a really good guy. But for 15 years everybody in the world thought that Lance Armstrong was a really good guy. ‘That cancer guy, he’s our guy.’ So it’s bigger even than Fifa.

Good for you Lance, at least they'll never take that off you.
