This is Louis Van Gaal's world and we just live in it. That can be the only explanation for some of the things that comes out of his mouth.

His latest hot-take references Man United's Sunday opponents Leicester City. The Foxes can claim the Premier League title at Old Trafford with a win, and instead of congratulating them on a surprise championship run - the Dutchman proceeded to attempt to say why Ranieri's men were able to shock the world instead of his more expensive squad.

It's because Leicester have it easier in the transfer market apparently.

At a smaller club like Leicester City it is more easy to buy players. It is not so easy to buy players for a club like Manchester United.

Sorry what? Leicester's squad - which cost roughly £23million - around ten times less than Van Gaal's expenditure at Old Trafford have it easier in the transfer market? How could he possibly justify that?

You have to pay much more. You have to pay the agent and then you have the player himself. So for a club like AZ Alkmaar or Leicester City it is much more easy to buy players. And also the pressure of the transfer of players is less big and also the pressure on the players to perform is less big. So it is a big difference.

We're not buying it Louis. Maybe the champions elect deserve a bit more respect than calling them a small club and comparing them to AZ Alkmaar.
