Ludicrous Ban For Footballer Who Attempted To Slap Assistant Referee With Penis

A one year ban from football. That's what's been handed down to a Spanish footballer after he was found to have attempted to hit a female assistant referee with his penis while he was a spectator at a game that didn't even involve his club.

A one year ban? How do you look over a case like that and decide a one year ban from football is enough? Far be it from us to question the wisdom of the Competition Committee of the Andalusian Football Association, but one year seems a bit light given the incident in question.

A couple of weeks ago, an Andalusian Senior Second Division clash between CD Abes's and Gabia CF was interrupted when, according to the referee's match report, the man 'invaded the pitch and approached assistant number one and tried to hit her with his penis, which he had pulled out beforehand'.

The referee recognised the man as a player from another team, Céltic de Puliana, who play in the Andalusian First Division. Having reviewed the incident, the Competition Committee have now banned the player in question for a year and fined him €498, or a 'medium-level' punishment as is being reported by Marca.

The player was reported to have been dropped by Céltic de Puliana after the incident so the only obvious question remains, what kind of sick twisted stuff would you need to do to get a 'high-level' punishment?
