Going, going and gone by the weekend. Man United have finally agreed a deal to get Nani off the books once and for all. The winger had been on loan at Sporting Lisbon last season with United playing the vast majority of his £110,000 a week wages.

There's was no chance Sporting would pick up that tab at the end of the loan deal so United looked like they may be stuck with Nani for a few more years. However, Fenerbahce have now come with a deal that leaves everyone happy.

Reports this week suggested that talks had stalled over the fact that Fener were unwilling to pay more than £3.5 million for the Portuguese international. Considering the amount that has been spent on the 28 year old in wages alone over the past couple of years, United were understandably unhappy with that amount but now it seems the Turkish club have agreed to a slightly larger fee.

Key word here being 'slightly'. When Nani was handed a massive new contract in 2013, it's unlikely the club would have been happy to think that he'd be sold for £4.25 million just two years later having contributed next to nothing on the field in that time.
