There's hope for Tony Fernandes yet. He claimed he would step aside as chairman if QPR were relegated this season. He could still copy Mexican tycoon Amado Omar Yanez though, owner of a gigantic marine engineering company and a seafood conglomerate.

Yanez also owns Queretaro FC, who were relegated from the Mexican top flight on May 4th. Rather than invest in a protracted promotion bid next season for the White Roosters however, Yanez has simply used his Grupo Delfines seafood company to buy Jaguares de Chiapas, another Mexican top division team.

The problem? Jaguares play 1,045km away from Queretaro in Tuxtla Gutierrez. Yanez has already launched an application though to uproot the team and relocate them in Queretaro. What he hopes to do with Queretaro FC is not yet clear.
