Raheem Sterling has insisted that money is not the motivation behind his desire to leave Liverpool, but he could earn a £4m bonus if he makes the move to Manchester City.

The winger returned to Liverpool for pre-season training this morning with his future still uncertain. The 20-year-old England international has two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield but it's expected that Man City will return this week with a third bid that could be the one to take him to Manchester.

As a nice little bonus, The Telegraph are reporting that Sterling is due a £4m cut of his agent's fee should City get near Liverpool's £50m valuation for the player.

Sterling expressed a desire to win trophies as the reasoning behind a move, but more and more it seems that he and his agent Aidy Ward are intent on a big money move. A guaranteed starting spot for Liverpool could be swapped for a expensive place on the bench at the Etihad.

If Sterling makes the move to City we'll finally find out if he can fulfil his potential as a future European star, or if he'll become an expensive Scott Sinclair. One thing's certain though, whether it's the most important thing or not, he's in line for a big payday when/if his move to City goes through.
