The possibility of Liverpool signing Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim has gathered pace.

Brazilian media reported on Monday night that Brendan Rodgers' side were entering the final stages of negotiations for the player.

The fee mentioned by Globoesporte was €25 million. It seems that it could actually be a lot more.

The Guardian say that the initial amount will be £25 million (€35 million) and that it could rise to £29 million (nearly €41 million) over time with extra fees.

Firmino is currently on duty for Brazil at the Copa America, scoring the decisive goal in his side's important 2-1 win against Venezuela on Sunday.

BBC South American football correspondent Tim Vickery says that he has been "very impressed" with the player.
