Roy Keane Has Some Choice Words For New Man Utd Manager Jose Mourinho

Is it any real surprise that Roy Keane isn't a fan of the new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. Keane was only ever a player against Mourinho a few times - most notably when Keane was red carded for stamping on the Porto keeper - and Mourinho did that famous run up the touchline on his way to leading the Portuguese side to the Champions League. They only had one overlapping season in the Premier League together.

In a perverse way, you can imagine Keane and Mourinho getting along as captain and manager - but the Corkonian really isn't a fan of 'the Special One'. While he does admire his results, he doesn't like him as a person, and when he came up against him as a manager for Sunderland - Keane was annoyed by Mourinho. He told ITV Sport during the Champions League final:

He was always going to be a good option when United didn’t qualify for the Champions League. He was available, fantastic CV and it seems like a good fit, but maybe he is not for me.

He is not my cup of tea. I found him really irritating when I coached against him, but that is just a personal thing, but working at Man Utd is all about winning and his CV will tell you he is a winner.

"Not his cup of tea" - I wonder if Keane would have described his relationship with Mick McCarthy or John Delaney like that back in the day.
