Roy Keane Is Being Linked With Yet Another Managerial Job

I always joke that whenever there is a managerial vacancy that Alan Curbishley will be one of the names linked with the job, and will be installed at something between a 7/1 and a 12/1 shot in all betting markets.

But as it gets further and further from Curbishley's managerial career, Curbs' odds are lengthening. We need a new Alan Curbishley that will be the token 12/1 bet linked with all jobs but won't get it.

We may have found the new Curbishley, and it's a familar face.

After Steve Bruce resigned from Hull yesterday, after being frustrated with their lack of progress in the transfer market after promotion - a very recognisable name was one of the first to be linked with the job. None other than our very own Roy Keane.

Since becoming Ireland assistant manager Keane has been linked to the top job at Celtic, Everton, Aston Villa, West Brom... I could go on. What price is Keane to be the next Hull manager? 7/1.

The Daily Mail has today opined that should Keane show some interest in the gig, that Hull's decision makers would look favourably at his chances. Keane hasn't been a manager since leaving Ispwich in 2011, and while he's agreed to a new contract - that hasn't been officially signed yet.

It wouldn't be like Keane to walk away from a handshake agreement now would it?

Whether there's merit to Keane taking up the Hull job or not, it does seem like he is becoming the next Curbishley. Until he gets a managerial position that is.

The favourites for the Hull job are other regulars in Neil Warnock (2/1), Mike Phelan (5/2), Ryan Giggs (3/1), Keane (7/1), Harry Redknapp (25/1), Gary Neville (28/1).
