Overall, Roy Keane is a big fan of Wayne Rooney.

His goalscoring scoring record - fantastic, but his performance as captain right now, less so.

Keane questioned Rooney's off the pitch activities, specifically citing an appearance at a WWE Monday Night Raw event in Manchester recently where the Man Utd captain slapped Wade Barrett.

I saw him last week at some wrestling, slapping a wrestler. I'm thinking 'Why is he getting involved in that nonsense?'. There's no benefit to him. I'd have a look at that side of it. It's certainly not helping him.

The Ireland assistant manager also doubted Rooney's mental and physical condition during Man Utd's lacklustre 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven.

I wouldn't begrudge a player going out and having a bit of fun. But when you're not at it yourself, you've got to have a look and you've got to lead by example.

He didn't do that tonight. He doesn't look sharp. He looks off. Mentally, he doesn't look really sharp. Physically, he doesn't look in great shape. He just needs to have a look at himself.
