Some 'Obscene' Demands Scuppered Gervinho's Move To Abu Dhabi

And no, before you say it, it's got nothing to do with his hairline or his penchant for large headbands. The former Arsenal striker who was playing quite well for Roma up until last year has been told he can leave the Italian capital and it was looking like the middle east would be his most likely destination.

Abu Dhabi based side Al Jazira jumped to the top of the queue and the Ivory Coast striker was all set to sign a four year deal for a fee in the region of €13 million. Good business all round. Al Jazira would get a more than decent striker in his prime and Roma would get more than the going rate for him. The only problem was with Gervinho's demands.

Gazetta dello Sport are reporting that the deal is off because Al Jazira were not willing to get the 28 year old a helicopter and a private beach. The Emirati club have described the demands as 'obscene' and it now looks like the deal is dead in the water.
