First it was Reading, then it was Cardiff and now it's definitely Reading. It looked like Stephen Quinn would sign a new contract with Hull at the end of last season but instead he chose to look for pastures new and he's found them at Reading.

Quinn has signed a three year contract, with an option of a fourth, and he joins Simon Cox and Stephen Kelly as the third member of the Irish contingent at the Berkshire club.

Reading manager Steve Clark told the club's website how happy he was to get Quinn to sign on the dotted line.

Stephen is an unassuming player but has always caught my eye and, when I knew he was available, I targeted him quite early in the summer. His performances are always of a good standard and he is a talented, industrious, aggressive midfielder who can be influential in games.

Obviously he has just experienced relegation at Hull City and is desperate to get back to the Premier League as quickly as possible, which can only be good for us. He has previous experience of playing in the Championship and was an important member of the Hull City team that gained promotion to the EPL in 2012/13 season.

Stephen is also a good character who will have a positive effect in our changing room and, just as importantly, on our younger players here at Reading FC.

It would have been good to see Quinn back in the Premier League but Clark is building a decent team at Reading an there's no reason Quinn couldn't be a key member of a team that get's them back to England's top table.
