Sunderland announced David Moyes as their new manager on Saturday morning following Sam Allardyce's appointment as England manager.

Allardyce's likely appointment as Roy Hodgson's successor had been known for quite a while. So Moyes, who was the obvious man to replace the new England manager at the Stadium of Light, has probably been plotting moves in the transfer market for a number of days.

Less than a day after his appointment comes news of his first target.

According to the Sun on Sunday, Moyes will look to acquire the services of a player he knows from his ill-fated time at Old Trafford. The Scot is looking to sign Will Keane - the rumoured fee is around £6.5 million. The paper also adds that Stoke are interested in the striker also.

During his time as Old Trafford manager, Moyes sent Keane out on loan twice. First to Wigan and then QPR. He spent a chunk of last season on loan at Preston where he scored twice.

The 23-year-old has represented England at several underage levels up to U21.

He is the twin brother of Burnley centre-back Michael Keane who has been the subject of serious interest from Leicester in recent weeks. The brothers are eligible to play for both England and Ireland. Michael turned out for Ireland at U17 and U19 levels before switching his allegiance to England.
