Steve Finnan

A starter in Istanbul, Finnan was a fan-favourite at Liveerpool due to his rock-solid performances at right back. He was a stalwart in the Reds' starting XI during his five years at Anfield where he amassed over 150 appearances before leaving for Espanyol in 2008.

Joey O'Brien

The current West Ham centre-back has often been overlooked for Irish selection in recent years, with some suggesting unfairly after starting in the Premier League for a number of seasons. O'Brien has still managed five senior caps for the Boys in Green.

Phil Babb

Babb spent six Premier League seasons at Liverpool before leaving for Sporting Lisbon in 2000. He also earned 35 caps for the Boys in Green and played for Jack Charlton in the 1994 World Cup.

Noel Cantwell

West Ham's first captain from outside the UK was none other than Cork native Noel Cantwell. He made 264 appearances for the Hammers before spending seven years at Manchester United. Cantwell was a left-back with a great eye for goal and led West Ham to the second division championship in 57/58. He also captained Ireland.

Steve Heighway

The Dubliner remains a Liverpool all-time legend after his 50 goals in over 300 appearances during the hugely successful Reds team of the 70s that won two European Cups, four league titles, and FA Cup and two Uefa cups. He won 34 Ireland caps during the same period.

Ray Houghton

The man who put the ball in the English net actually began his career with West Ham, making a solitary appearance off the bench. He joined Liverpool in 1987 and spent five years at where we won three league titles and two FA Cups.

Ronnie Whelan

A legend both at home and on Merseyside. The versatile midfielder made 53 appearances for Ireland while he won everything there was to win at Liverpool during his 15 year spell at Anfield during the Reds glory days from 1979 to 1994.

Jason McAteer

One of the Spice Boys and a legend for both club and country. "Trigger" made 100 appearances for Liverpool in the mid to late 90s and also played 52 times for Ireland between 1994 and 2004, scoring the vital goal against Netherlands that allowed the Boys in Green to qualify for the 2002 World Cup.

John Aldridge

Ireland's adopted Scouser was a goal machine throughout his career. Aldridge scored 19 goals for Ireland and played in Italia 90 as well as 63 goals in the late 80s for Liverpool. His tally of 330 league goals is still the 6th highest in the history of English football.

Robbie Keane

Ireland's captain and all-time top scorer wasn't as prolific during his time at Anfield, he managed five goals during his ill-fated spell at boyhood club Liverpool. Keane also played for West Ham on loan from LA Galaxy in 2011 and managed two goals  in nine appearances.
