We were worried for a while. Atleti didn't turn up for the first half of the Champions League final, a strangely timid performance with a bizarre amount of space in midfield offered to Luka Modric. But Atleti have emerged a much better side in the second half, and should have equalised when Antoine Griezmann rattled the crossbar with his penalty. Atleti won the penalty when Fernando Torres sensed Pepe's presence, so dangled out a leg in the hope that the Portuguese defender would bite with his usual brainlessness. He did:

Within a minute of the second half, we had one of the typical moments: appealing forlornly to the referee having committed a foul of rank stupidity. Later we had our second, with some characteristic theatrics:
