Watch: Robin Van Persie Puts 'Keeper On His Arse With Sumptuously Skilled Finish

It seems every time Manchester United fail to pick up three points at the weekend, at least six of their former players net a beautiful goal for the new clubs.

It last happened when, amongst others, Shinji Kagawa scored a gorgeous chip from the edge of the area for Borussia Dortmund against Schalke - this just hours after United collapsed at White Hart Lane.

United's draw with Leicester on Sunday afternoon now looks a lot better considering City's capitulation at Southampton, but the relatively swashbuckling FA Cup approach from last weekend was replaced by the usual blunt approach play; Leicester's defenders, of course, can take some credit for that.

With United labouring to a 1-1 draw, the man who fired them to the title in 2013 was up to his old tricks for Fenerbache.

Taking to the field for his 500th senior appearance in football, Robin van Persie capped the occasion with an outrageous finish against Gaziantepspor.

Now, while it might be easy to pine for the 32-year-old as a United fan accustomed to far more unimaginative offensive play, it's worth pointing out that it was only the Dutchman's 13th goal of an injury-plagued season - which would suggest moving him on wasn't necessarily the worst call Louis van Gaal has made in his time at the helm.

But it was certainly an intelligent and uniquely creative finish by RVP, who added a second goal nine minutes from time in Fenerbache's 3-0 victory.
