You'll probably have seen the slightly surreal pictures of Wayne Rooney back in an Everton shirt yesterday as part of Roberto Martinez's squad for Duncan Ferguson's testimonial. The Goodison crowd were only to happy to keep the past in the past as they gave the Man United striker a thunderous reception and it was obvious Rooney was only too happy to take his place alongside big Duncan up front.
At least he was a lot more comfortable there than he was when asked to give his thoughts on the occasion. After the game, Everton's TV snagged Rooney and asked him how it felt to be back in his boyhood colours.
