They still say the roar which greeted the Clare footballers when they stepped onto the Croke Park pitch on August 23rd, 1992 is the loudest ever heard in the stadium.

It was a significant day for the Banner. A month earlier - shocking Kerry with a five-point victory - they had won their first Munster title in either hurling or football since 1962.

In attendance at Croke Park that day was none other than Kevin Costner, just a year removed from winning a Best Director Oscar for 'Dances With Wolves'.

Michael Lyster mentions that Costner was in Ireland working on a project, though we are not sure for which of his films.

The Dubs would prove too much for Clare, progressing to the All-Ireland final where they lost to Donegal.
