The Opel GAA/GPA Player Of The Month recipients for the month of September have just been revealed. Unsurprisingly, the All-Ireland champions in both codes are the winners for the first award since the conclusion of the championship with Dublin's Paddy Andrews and Kilkenny's Tj Reid getting the nod.

Paddy Andrews has been a consistent force in Dublin's attack this year with his crowning performance coming in the All-Ireland semi-final against Mayo. The St Brigid's picked five points from play to help Dublin win the replay and send them through to a third All-Ireland final in five years. He maintained his impressive form in the final, scoring a vital point shortly after half-time.

Kilkenny's Tj Reid is now a firm fixture in Brian Cody's set-up, collecting his seventh All-Ireland medal this year and scoring a stunning 1-7 in the final against Galway.

Speaking after the results were announced, GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell said

Congratulations to TJ and Paddy on their awards for September. Of course there is always added significance to performances at the close of the season with the top prizes in sight and both players excelled in their forward contributions. We now look forward to the All-Star selections next month

Both Paddy Andrews and Tj Reid are also on the shortlist for the GAA All-Star nominations for 2015.
