Four players were sent off following this melee during a Wexford Hurling Championship match late last month.

We're classifying it as a 'melee' rather than 'shameful scenes' as there was no aggressive external involvement from supporters or management.

According to the Wexford People, a 12-man fight broke out in the 55th minute of the game after Cloughbawn's Johnny Cullen hit Joe O'Connor of St. Martin's with his hurley.

Following the melee, the referee sent off Daithi Waters and Jake Firman of St. Martin's and Barry Kehoe and Johnny Cullen of Cloughbawn.

Both sides were already playing with 14 men after red cards were shown earlier in the game.
