Any prospective All-Ireland semi-final replays in 2016 will likely not be moved to Limerick after it was announced today that the 2016 Croke Park Classic will not go ahead.
Last year's game between Penn State and the University of Central Florida ended in a narrow win to the former side and was meant to herald the start of an ongoing relationship between Croke Park and the NCAA.
The 2016 game was supposed to involve Boston College and Georgia Tech but that fixture will not be coming to Jones' Road.
The GAA released a statement tonight blaming Mario Draghi for their decision.
The strength of the dollar against the euro means that the staging of the game at Croke Park was no longer viable for the Association without significant support from government agencies.
The GAA had envisaged that the ground would also host a college game in 2018 but is now presumably dependent on the ECB printing less money.
