There Was Something Significantly Amiss With The RTÉ News Report On Kerry Hurling

If you were watching the Six One news on Thursday evening, as a fair chunk of the population would, then you might have been a little confused when RTÉ had a feature on the Kerry hurling. The confusion doesn't arise because the football mad county have an increasingly successful hurling team, nor is it because they are taking part in the Leinster championship.

Instead, the confusion arose because RTE showed what appeared to be a very out-of-date report on the team. For example, the manager of Kerry hurling was shown as John Meyler - despite the fact that the Wexford man left his post with Kerry in 2012.

Naturally quite a few people picked up on it and fortunately for us, the clip of the report is already online.

It does seem apparent that an old report was shown - given that it was introduced while mentioning Kerry's upcoming game with Carlow - but the report states a clash with Westmeath in the Christy Ring Cup. And the reference to Kerry football manager Jack O'Connor - not current boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice.
