Having trailed for the entire game, Kilkenny pipped Dublin in last night's Leinster quarter-final in Parnell Park.

A late Mark Mansfield goal gave them victory on a scoreline of 4-12 to 2-16. Dublin goalkeeper Sean Brennan appeared to have blinded by the sun as he allowed Mansfield's shot from distance to creep into the net.

Brian Cody was prominent in the crowd (not least because the camera was intent on zoning in on him). He had a familial interest tonight with son Diarmuid starting at centre-back.

Early on, the unfortunate linesman on the seated stand side was accidentally caught by Cian Boland's hurl.

The incident was caught by Sportsfile's Stephen McCarthy.
