Jason Sudeikis has found a place in the hearts of football fans with his iconic Ted Lasso character, and the fictional Premier League manager will make his gaming debut in the upcoming FIFA 23.
The annual football game from EA Sports (the last to be released under the "FIFA" moniker) will feature Lasso and his fictional side AFC Richmond, in a first for the series.
The news of Ted Lasso's arrival for FIFA 23 was announced with a blockbuster trailer on Wednesday which featured some famous faces.

Ted Lasso to make FIFA debut this year
New FIFA arrival Ted Lasso has been a sensation since the show's premiere in 2020. It has won several awards, including four at the recent Primetime Emmy Awards.
The series follows fictional American coach Ted Lasso (played by Jason Sudeikis), who transfers from college football in the states to Premier League soccer in England, coaching the fictional team AFC Richmond.
Several of the characters are loosely inspired by real-world football figures - none moreso than Roy Kent, obviously akin to our very own Roy Keane.
Ted Lasso's inclusion on FIFA 23 was announced via a trailer on Wednesday which included a segment to camera from Kent, as well as some real world football stars.

Wayne Rooney said of Lasso: "He didn't know a thing about football, but that didn't matter."
Ian Wright says: "He doesn't do things conventionally but, then again, none of the great managers did. He's proven he belongs in the game.
The announcement will no doubt excite fans of the show, and of the FIFA franchise.

The World’s Game has one more club to announce: AFC Richmond are coming to FIFA 23!
That means Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and the biggest stars of the AFC Richmond squad including Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Isaac McAdoo will all be authentically integrated into FIFA 23, along with Nelson Road–the club’s home ground.
One of the game’s great motivators, you’ll be able to select Ted Lasso as your playable manager in Career Mode, or you can manage AFC Richmond by swapping them into the Premier League or any other playable Career Mode league.
AFC Richmond will be playable across Career Mode, Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons, including The Greyhounds’ Nelson Road home stadium.
And in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team™, you’ll be able to show your love for AFC Richmond with a series of customisation items including authentic kits and TIFOs, as well as being able to find and select Ted Lasso or Coach Beard as your club’s manager. All AFC Richmond content in FUT will be available through objectives and challenges.
We look forward to playing with Ted Lasso and co. when FIFA 23 releases on September 30.
