Sometimes you have to wonder why, for the most part, why manufacturers bother giving away cars for holes in one. Sure it's decent publicity but fans don't really believe that if Rory McIlroy bags a hole in one he's really going to be delighted to pick up a middle of the range saloon.

With that in mind, the sponsor's of this week's PGA tournament in Virginia, Quicken Loans, came up with a pretty good idea. Instead of a prize for the player, if there was a hole in one recorded, the company would pay one of their customer's mortgage for the next year.

Step forward Rickie Fowler who began his week with a 67 yesterday thanks in no small part to this ace on the ninth.

Fowler later tweeted that he was happy to have won the prize for one Tom R. who can look forward to having his mortgage taken care of for the next 12 months.
