According to Chael Sonnen, Conor McGregor had disagreements with the UFC over which gear he would wear at both the weigh-in for UFC 189 and during the post-fight interview following his victory against Chad Mendes.

Speaking on the latest episode of his 'You're Welcome' podcast, Sonnen claimed that McGregor would not bend to the UFC's will and refused to wear a particular type of Reebok gear, telling officials 'I'm different'.

Conor did not wear Reebok (at the Mendes weigh in). He wore something else and behind the scenes they were giving him his Reebok kit (as you can see in the picture above).

He refused to wear it. They said 'Hey, you have to wear this' and McGregor said 'I'm different, I'm not like those other guys. I'm not wearing it', so they get out the Contract and everything and they tell him 'you have to do this' and Conor said 'I'm not doing it'. When the weigh in rolled around he did not wear the Reebok stuff.

Unlike Chad Mendes, McGregor did not wear the official Reebok fight kit but instead his own line of Reebok apparel.

Along with this, Sonnen said that Dana White personally handed McGregor a black Reebok shirt post fight, but once again the Dubliner refused to wear it.

After the fight Dana gets in the octagon and hands him the Reebok shirt (black champion shirt) and goes 'you have to put this on' and Conor did not respond, he just looked at Dana. And when he did his post fight (interview) he did not put the shirt on.
