During the week, Conor McGregor met with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta to iron out the major wrinkles in the relationship between the Dubliner and the UFC.

Speaking to the ESPN, McGregor said that it had been a 'good conversation' and that emotion had been set aside.

One of the purposes of that meeting is likely to have been exploring when McGregor's next fight is going to take place.

Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo fight for the interim featherweight belt on July 9th. McGregor will probably face the winner, though that won't happen until later in the year. Before then, what was supposed to be the headline fight at UFC 200 - McGregor vs Diaz 2 - is likely to be the next time the 27-year-old steps into the Octagon.

What makes that appear a possibility is along with meeting McGregor on Wednesday, White and Fertitta also had a sitdown with Nate Diaz this week.

It appears it was not as productive a meeting as White and Fertitta had with McGregor.

Quoted by TMZ, White said his trip to California to meet Diaz was fruitless.

Obviously I'm not going to disclose details of the deal, but let's just say my trip to Stockton didn't go well.

TMZ's account of the meeting includes word of the conversation ending 'abruptly when Dana was visibly angry, stood up and beelined it for his SUV'.

The cause of White's ire would appear to have been money. ESPN's Brett Okamoto has a little bit more info on what happened.
