Ever since Conor McGregor revealed his blueprint for making a tonne of money in the UFC, a lot of fighters have tried to call him out to get a slice of the inevitable pay-day that The Notortious is now bringing to the octagon.

Many have tried, few have done it well, but the increasingly popular Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone got UFC fans giddy at the prospect of a future fight between himself and McGregor when he was quizzed about the Irishman by Chael Sonnen.

Cerrone was complaining about his upcoming opponent Rafael Dos Anjos, the UFC lightweight champion who he accused to being friendly face to face and then immediately talking shit on twitter, when Sonnen asked him how he would react if Conor McGregor started talking about him:

Let him come on with it. Oh fuck, come on Chael. Bring that shit on. The only problem is he's not going to be able to do that shit talking stuff with me.

So if McGregor wants to talk shit? It doesn't fly with Cowboy. That's not how I was raised.

You can't just hide behind Twitter, hide behind the UFC. 'Oh, you can't hit me until we fight.' Nah, you've got to stand up for what you're talking about. Hopefully we won't cross paths. He hasn't crossed the line and pissed me off just yet, but he's walking the line, for sure.

There you have it, it doesn't fly with Cowboy.

Cerrone continued as he explained what might happen if the two crossed paths if McGregor did badmouth him:

Conor's just good at fucking talking shit. If I was to fight Conor and he gets on public TV and talks shit that wouldn't fly with me. At the first opportunity of seeing him I'd check him.

We might be crossing paths but who the fuck knows. I'd welcome that. Hopefully he talks shit and I slap the shit out of him, pump the pay-per-views up and I make four million dollars.

It certainly would be hard to turn down that payday, because who wouldn't want to see the styles of McGregor and Cowboy collide in the Octagon?
