UFC press conferences are often an opportunity for Conor McGregor to show off his repertoire of verbal attacks on his upcoming opponents, but on Thursday night ahead of UFC 196, the Dubliner chose to show his humble side regarding a question on an all-time great.
When asked who inspired him in combat sports as a child McGregor revealed that he draws inspiration from everywhere and could not name one person in particular, but after being compared to Ali by the gentleman who asked the question, he admitted that while he appreciated the comments, he could not accept the comparison.
The crowd seemed almost shocked by that reply, but when he's not attempting to draw his opponent into a psychological warfare, he is a very respectful guy.
He did of course continue to claim that he would be the first man to earn a billion dollars in the UFC, and claim that he will rip the Floyd Mayweather poster on the front of the MGM Grand down, but still, he's not having the Ali comparisons.
Unleash the good times with a great group deal at a night at the dogs.
