After 39 days at sea, kayakers Jon Hynes and Sean Cahill will return to Cork tomorrow evening after successfully circumnavigating Ireland.

The duo left the Old Head of Kinsale, Co. Cork on the 16th of June and set off to round the Emerald Isle relying solely on their own skills and equipment to cope in unpredictable Irish weather and windy conditions.

The experienced kayakers camped on any sheltered beaches and coves they could find along the way, they've also managed to find some beds given the networking and friends made through many years of kayaking.

The duo undertook the trip as a personal challenge and hopefully to serve as a resource for anyone else looking to attempt a trip in the future. They are also doing in order to fund a disabled hoist for water activities in Cappanalea Centre, Co. Kerry.

Jon and Sean have been kindly sponsored by CH Marine and Yak and they will return to Kinsale tomorrow evening at seven. A documentary of the trip will be released in October 2015.
