Despite losing both Johnny Sexton and Paul O'Connell in the first half and then Peter O'Mahony and Keith Earls to injury in the second half, Ireland came out on top against France.

On ITV, Brian O'Driscoll called the performance 'brilliant and sublime'.

It really was a brilliant, brilliant second half performance. They were sublime. As Jamie mentioned, to lose two inspirational leaders - the team wouldn't have been castigated at home for not performing to the standards that they set themselves. My God, they were absolutely fantastic in that second half.

To a man, every replacement that came on did fantastic work.

Without any real belief, O'Driscoll hoped that Sean O'Brien would not be cited for his first half dig on Pascal Pape.

He also hailed the performance of the bench.

It was a real squad performance. The bench is a big aspect these days. It's a 23-man game these days. Lads don't just come on to keep things going, they come on to make a difference. I thought they really did that today.
