In the inquest into England's failed Rugby World Cup is well under way. From the funereal mood to the calls for Stuart Lancaster to leave - things have not gone well for the World Cup hosts.

The English media are united in their calling for Lancaster to leave his post; and have been busy touting alternate candidates to replace the man who turned around an ill-disciplined team into one that everyone had to take seriously.

The Telegraph are one such paper who have pushed thirteen candidates they want to see instead of Lancaster. There's the usual candidates - the Eddie Joneses, the Jake Whites, the Ewen McKenzies, and the Alan Curbishleys, and the Jurgen Klopps who are always linked to every single coaching post.

But hidden amongst the Telegraph's list of names are three Irishmen - Saracens' head coach Mark McCall, Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea, and former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan.

It would mark a huge reverse of fortunes for Eddie, who was in a similar situation to Lancaster back in 2007. The then Irish head coach signed a long term deal before the World Cup, which resulted in Ireland exiting the competition at the pool stage. Lancaster signed a six-year deal back in 2014.
