There are some Irish rugby fans that haven't gotten over the emotional loss to New Zealand in Dublin back in November 2013. Ireland have yet to beat New Zealand in 110 years of trying - with just one draw back in 1973 to show for it.

Ever since Ryan Crotty went over in the corner with the last play of the game to snatch victory from defeat, Ireland have gone from strength to strength as back to back Six Nations champions and have been itching for a rematch. That test hasn't been forthcoming, and while there are two potential meeting points for the two countries at the upcoming World Cup - no date is set in stone, for now.

The New Zealand Herald is reporting that the NZRU are lining up a monster two day test weekend in Chicago next November. The hope is that the Maori All Blacks face the US Eagles on a Friday, with the full All Blacks team playing an exhibition game against a top tier nation the following day. The reported top tier nation? Ireland are favourites to face the All Blacks in front of a packed Soldier Field in Chicago.

While nothing has been confirmed, it's believed that the extensive Irish connections in Chicago makes Joe Schmidt's team the first choice for the NZRU; and the IRFU are apparently looking to broaden their rugby reach.

It's thought that any tests for next year's winter international window will be confirmed before the start of the Rugby World Cup.

It would make a nice rematch after the Rugby World Cup final wouldn't it? Anything to bring this commentator back in our lives.
