D'Arcy had an impressive season for his club side Clontarf, and Munster faced competition from Connacht for his signature, but Munster Rugby CEO Garrett Fitzgerald today confirmed his arrival:

Matt will join us on a three month contract initially where we will monitor his development. He has proven both his talent and leadership in the club game and it's great that he now has the opportunity to play professional rugby.

Leaving the province is winger Luke O'Dea who scored six tries in 20 senior appearances for Munster, as he rejected a short term contract in order to move to the Pro D2 in France.
