The fallout from England's shock rugby World Cup exit continues.

England have today admitted that their was a training ground incident between Danny Cipriani and Mike Catt but they have insisted that the matter was quickly resolved between the pair. The incident supposedly occurred only a few hours after Cipriani had been told that he was omitted from the final squad of 31.

The RFU have moved quickly to assert that the incident was about a disagreement over a drill and nothing more. A RFU spokesman said that:

Danny and Mike were involved in a robust conversation on the training pitch following a misunderstanding around a training drill instruction.

Both shook hands afterwards and the incident played no bearing on selection.

However the Daily Mail is also confirming its previous report that Catt twice told Cipriani that "I will end your career" and that not only did players separate the two but that they also came to the defence of the Sale Sharks out-half.

But the RFU spokesman has refuted any report suggesting that a "mutiny" had been caused by the bust-up. The spokesman also had to deny that Stuart Lancaster instructed his players not to leak details of the row to the media or public.

This is just another ugly incident that the RFU has had to deal with since England were knocked out of the World Cup. Earlier this week Andy Farrell had to address media reports of an unhappy camp, player unhappiness with selections and questions about who was really picking the teams which. These lead to Farrell giving a fantastic quote about Stuart Lancaster and the England Squad:

Ultimately we all work under Stuart's umbrella and that umbrella is a brilliant place to work.

Cirpiani also hasn't helped England since being omitted from the squad when he gave the Australia team bulletin board material by making this outrageous claim about the Australia team.
